Cebu Special Detox Weeks

Daily routine:


first thing in the morning -
  •  glas of water with lemon or calamansi juice 
  •  Breathing (5 min)
throughout the day -   
  •  40 minutes walking,  the circulation will help to flush out toxines. Do not push to an uncomfortable limit it is just to activate the blood flow. 
  • brushing the skin daily: brush your skin carefully before showering to activate the circulation. The skin is the biggest organ which plays an important role in detoxification.
  • meditate: get your spirit calm and focused on yourself.

  • get twice a week a massage or footreflex massage.

 

 

 

 Meals:

Eat 5 times a day!
1 big meal -  Lunch or dinner
4 smal meals 


For example:

Morning: Fruit with joghurt

Inbetween: Nuts/ fruit/dry fruit  

Lunch: Low carb dish.  That might help: Recipes 

Inbetween: Nuts/ fruit/dry fruit  

Dinner: Juice (see below) 

Replace one meal with a juice! (recipes below) Either dinner or lunch is Juice time!
Avoid eating after 7 pm. Give your intestine time to relax.

Drink 2,5-3 l Water every day to help the body flush out the toxines. 
Avoid Softdrinks, alkohol and coffee. It is just for 12 Days, and it makes a difference because breaking habits is also part of a detoxification.

Green tea 2 cups a day is an excellent provider of antioxidance and is a great detoxifier.

 

 

Lets talk about habits!

This is the best time of the year to go through your old things and sort them out.
Detox your working area, bedroom, living room, kitchen and closets.
Throw things away you have kept for years without using them. Go through old paperwork, reorganize impractical things.


If you start the detox week, 
  • make sure that you have fresh fruit and vegetables and green tea at home.
  •  give your self a little bit more time for rituals, so plan more time for yourself. 

 

 

Super Detox Green Juice 

This healthy breakfast juice helps to keep sugar cravings at a minimum.


Ingredients
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 small cucumber, chopped
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1 handful spinach
  • Handful of fresh parsley or cilantro
  • 1 lemon peeled
  • 1 apple, seeded, cored and chopped

If using a juicer: Add all the above ingredients to a juicer and juice.

If using a blender: Add all the above ingredients to a blender along with 1 cup chilled water. Add ice if desired. Blend until smooth. 







 Cleanse & Detox Smoothie

Flush out toxins with this Cleanse and Detox Smoothie and maybe lose a pound or two along the way.


Ingredients
  • Recommend organic apple, kale and celery be used for this recipe.
  • 1 organic apple with peeling, cored (Wash away harmful toxins in the body)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (This citrus fruit helps boosts the digestive tract)
  • 1 cup kale (Chlorophyll kick starts the digestive tract by ridding the body of pesticides and environmental toxins)

Ingredients
  • 1 avocado, peeled, seeded
  • 1 organic (sweet) apple , cored, leave peeling on the apple
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup baby spinach, loosely packed
  • 1 cup kale loosely packed, stems removed
  • 1 cup green tea, unsweetened (home brewed is best)
  • 8 cubes ice
Add the above ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add less green tea for a thicker smoothie.

Ingredients
  • 1 12-ounce glass water, at room temperature
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 inch knob of ginger root

Add the lemon juice to the glass of water. Finely grate the ginger by using a zester, add to the glass of water. This drink is a perfect way to start your day!


 Coconut Milk Smoothie

 If you love coconut, this smoothie is sure to please! And the best part is, you get all those wonderful health benefits from the coconut! 


Ingredients
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups raw spinach
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Ingredients: 1/2 pear, 1/2 green apple, 1 handful spinach, 1 handful parsley, 2 celery stalks, 1/2 cucumber, 1 small piece ginger, 1 slice of papaya

Ingredients: 2 stalks celery, 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 apple, 1/2 lemon, 1 small piece ginger, 1/2 green chard leaf, 1 bunch cilantro leaves, chopped, 5 kale leaves, 1 handful spinach

Ingredients: 1 handful of spinach, 3 stalks of celery, 1 small handful of parsley, 1 small bunch of dandelion greens, 1 small bunch of watercress leaves, 3 leaves of green kale, 2 bartlett pears, seeded ¼ lemon, peeled ½ cucumber, peeled





Watermelon Agua Fresca

Watermelom Agua Fresca
Watermelon is yet another popular variation of agua fresca. Think of it as fruit salad without the bowl or heavy syrup.
Prep time: 10 minutes  
Total time: 15 minutes, plus refrigeration  
Yield: 4-6 glasses
Ingredients
  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, cut into sections
  • 1/2 English cucumber, cut into spears
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 tablespoon organic sugar if necessary
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon citrus seasoning (optional)
  • Handful mint, torn
  • 1 cucumber wheel, optional garnish
Directions
  1. Rinse produce. Cut to size and juice. Pour liquid contents into pitcher, straining through sieve if needed to remove pulp.
  2. Combine with remaining ingredients. Stir and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour. Serve over ice.



Mean Green

  •  Apples (granny smith) - 2 medium (3" dia)
  • Celery - 4 stalk, large (11"-12" long)
  • Cucumber - 1 cucumber (8-1/4")
  • Ginger - 1 thumb (1" dia)
  • Kale - 6 leaf (8-12")
  • Lemon - 1/2 fruit (2-3/8" dia)
Process all ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and serve.
